How it works

From client upload to reviewed data, in one place

NiniTaxBot handles the intake half of tax season: collecting documents, sorting them, and getting their numbers into structured form. Your team keeps full control of the return.

  1. Client portal

    Clients upload what they have

Your clients get a secure portal for your firm. They can upload PDFs, phone photos and ZIP files: W-2s, 1099s, K-1s and the rest of the pile. No more hunting through email attachments. More on the client portal →

  2. Classification

    Every document is identified

AI identifies each file by type, such as W-2, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV or K-1, and associates it with the right client, so nobody has to rename and sort files by hand.

  3. Extraction

    Values become structured fields

Box-level values are extracted into fields. Instead of a stack of PDFs, your team has a structured record for each document, linked to its source.

  4. Review queue

    Your team checks and approves

Extracted values appear beside the source document. Reviewers correct anything that needs it and approve. Nothing moves on without that approval. More on the review queue →

  5. Integrations

    Designed to work with Canopy

Sync your Canopy client list, bring client files from Canopy into review, and post an approved status note back (in pilot testing). Lacerte, UltraTax CS and Drake exports are coming soon. Canopy details →

What it doesn't do

Intake automation, not return preparation

NiniTaxBot does not calculate taxes, choose tax treatments or prepare returns. It removes manual data entry at intake so your preparers can spend their time on review and judgment.

  • No tax calculations
  • No return preparation or filing
  • Nothing sent out without human approval
  • Your existing tax software and review process stay in place
Security

Built for sensitive documents

Encrypted storage, firm-level data isolation at the database level, and human review before anything leaves.
